fivehannaBelted, in repose, curls tucked and pinned  against the pale, quiet drops of her ears.  
Thin light -a cloud's- halves her figure.  
She begs her seat from a moth,  
continues on toadstool to swill pigment  behind her teeth, inky and blind.  
   She chooses the woven chair  while I slump into a cloth cocoon.  Night steeps the temperature  to a heavy ninety.  
We stick to our seats.  We are pupae emerging  into a swamp-swaddled womb.  
She gets dizzy as I swing.  
 
Witness her coax a sunflower:  seed to sapling to sudden bloom,  a reflection of her fivehanna

beach poemWe three form a trio of far-blown gulls,  singular believers with our talons gripping trowels,  digging mussel hearts and organs from the sand.  
 
Sound snaps from the dirty lengths of our wings.  
Pilfered blueberries stain our necks and beaks.  
 
Wheeling into the waves, we bob up  again -red, mousse, and brassy crowns.  
We are the weird sea blood absolved.  
 
Dune ants tick and spasm over our feet  before we bury them in the hungry tide.  
 
The sky strays gunmetal; the clouds  draw darkly over our infant faith.

...not really bad news, though. Just wanted your attention.

THIS ACCOUNT IS MOVING.

~madhatterzwei is such an old name. I've had this account for FOUR YEARS, which basically means that my inbox constantly has deviations in it and I just have way too much crap on this account. Plus I'm getting tired of everyone calling me Hatter or Zwei when the name doesn't even really matter anymore. It used to mean something to me, but now it's lost all significance.

So. My new account has a subscription and is beautiful and clean and has nothing on it except a journal and an ID. It is...

*drylandfish

If you don't know what a dryland fish...well, you probably DO know what it is, you've just never heard the expression before. It's my favorite colloquialism (whoa, I spelled that right first go!) and a cute phrase altogether. I will be uploading my favorite old deviations as well as a TON of stuff from my book. And new stuff, of course.

YOU GO TO WARREN WILSON COLLEGE SKDJASKDJALSKDJ?!! I went on a tour there, last year, and fell in looooove with it! The scenery, and the whole 'no frats, sororities, etc' thing, and their whole thing about wildlife and and and the environment and the scenery and /EXPLODES/ How is it there? Tell me everything! Are the people nice? Are you majoring in writing? @_@ /CLING/ Are there any Final Fantasy geeks? xD
